About Me ..... 2015- 2017
A few years ago I was playing with my son and he decided he could “knead bread” with my stomach! That same day I bought some scales and it was time for me to face the music. I stood there, it took a few seconds to work out what the magic number was going to be. 15stone and 3lbs. I’m 6’1, and hide it well but I wasn’t happy. Always thought I was around the 13stone mark; but how wrong was I!
From that day I knew I had to do something about it and this was when my journey of running began. I bought some trainers, shorts and a nice running t shirt and off I went. It was horrendous. 1 mike in and my sides are aching, my breathing heavy and I had stopped. A mile from home I took a few minutes and began again. Left, right, left - saying to myself “you can do it”. I survived day one. It was tough but I knew that the hardest day was going to be the next time I donned the running gear.
Fast froward to February 2016 and I completed my first half marathon. 1hour 46mins and 45 seconds. I was over the moon. Not only had a completed my first half marathon but I weighed in at 13stone. I felt good. Cloud 9. No drug could come close to when my I hung my medal up and the time chip attached to the bag. It hung proudly.
Since then I have ran 3 half marathons (not many I know) along with some other distances. Below is my current update personal records.
